Samut songkhram: A delegation from 12 institutions under the Isra Institute visited Ban Bang Ruea Hak in Samut Songkhram province to study a model of a strong community and received exercise equipment for public benefit. Ms. Nattasuda Wongsuwan, Vice President of the Samut Songkhram Provincial Red Cross, along with Mr. Thanakrit Huadrakasa, village headman of Bang Ruea Hak Village, and representatives of the villagers, welcomed the executives and participants of the 12th Mid-Level Mass Communication Executive Training Course in Broadcasting and Television (BMSK) from the Isra Institute. The delegation was led by Mr. Chavarong Limpattapanee, Acting Executive Director of the Isra Institute, and Col. Dr. Pitipat Chamnanvech, Chairman of the 12th BMSK class, on their visit to study sustainable local community management.
According to Thai News Agency, the delegation listened to a presentation on the unique characteristics of Ban Bang Ruea Hak, a village that participated in the 2026 "Peaceful and Virtuous Village" competition. Originally, this area was a gathering place for illicit activities and had a problem with waste from seashells that became breeding grounds for mosquitoes. Through the cooperation of the villagers and the local administration, the environment has been improved. Examples include creating a central vegetable garden for villagers to harvest and repurposing seashells into paving bricks to reduce waste.
On this occasion, the group participated in activities such as making paving bricks, sewing thatched roofs, planting vegetables, and supporting local community products that were on display and available for tasting. They also donated two pieces of exercise equipment for the elderly for public use and provided sports shirts sponsored by M7 Sportswear to the community. Colonel Dr. Pitipat Chamnanvech, Chairman of the 12th batch of Community Management Training, stated that it was a great opportunity for the trainees to visit and study the Bang Ruea Hak community. This provided a concrete example of community management through integrated cooperation from all sectors, particularly strengthening the community from the grassroots level by local residents themselves.
Although the majority of the population is elderly, this community has become a significant driving force for positive change, demonstrating the value of the elderly and the culture of unity within the local community. This will serve as an example for all trainees to apply the concepts to their lives and professional management.
