Bangkok: The Israeli ambassador to Thailand reiterated that Israel was forced to attack Iran in self-defense. The Israeli Ambassador to Thailand reiterated to the press that Israel launched Operation Roaring Lion with the United States to protect itself and its people, and confirmed that Thai workers in Israel remain safe.
According to Thai News Agency, in a press conference held at the Hilton Bangkok Grande Asoke, Israeli Ambassador Alona Fischer-Kamm confirmed that Israel is under duress and forced to launch an offensive against Iran to protect the country and its people, and to deter and eliminate permanent and existential threats to the nation's existence from Iran. These threats, she emphasized, include Iran's nuclear capabilities, long-range missiles, and terrorism, both directly from Iran and from its proxy groups allied with Iran. She stressed that these threats are not new, but have existed since the 1979 Islamic Revolution in Iran, 47 years ago, when Iran came under the leadership of a regime deemed illegitimate. Furthermore, ingrained in the Iranian regime's DNA is the destruction of the State of Israel.
Israel had assessed before the operation began that Iran was at its weakest point in several aspects. Firstly, the power of various proxy groups surrounding Israel, which Iran uses to attack Israel, had weakened. Secondly, Israel's assessment indicated that over the past year, since the latest conflict in June, Iran had accelerated its efforts to destroy Israel by hiding and moving all of its nuclear infrastructure underground. Furthermore, Iran had also accelerated the development of long-range and intercontinental ballistic missiles. Israeli Ambassador to Thailand, Alona Fischer-Kamm, pointed out that these two factors were the main reasons why Israel needed to cooperate with the United States to address and counter the threat posed by Iran.
The Israeli Ambassador to Thailand added that Israel hopes this attack, the duration of which is still unknown, will ultimately lead to a process of changing the illegitimate regime of Iran.
Furthermore, it was confirmed that there were no attacks from Iran's neighboring countries, including the United Arab Emirates (UAE), Bahrain, Kuwait, Qatar, Azerbaijan, or even Saudi Arabia and others. These countries were attacked solely because of Iran's 'aggressive regime'.
Regarding the issue concerning Thai workers in Iran, the Israeli Ambassador to Thailand emphasized that Israel will protect not only its own citizens but also foreigners, including the approximately 50,000 Thai workers in Israel, ensuring their safety just as Israelis are protected. The Israeli authorities have prepared a guide to inform Thais about the nearest shelters in Thai. To date, no Thai worker has expressed a desire to return to Thailand.
