Tel aviv: The Israeli military has revealed it is preparing for weeks of operations in Iran. An Israeli military spokesman told reporters today that the Israeli army is prepared for a potentially weeks-long operation against Iran, but that ground forces will not be deployed to the area.
According to Thai News Agency, Lieutenant Colonel Nadav Shoshani stated in an online press conference that Israel has prepared for an overall timeframe of several weeks, adding that the duration of the military operation could change depending on the unfolding situation. He noted that progress so far has been positive.
When asked about the possibility of sending ground forces or infantry into Iran, Lieutenant Colonel Shoshani stated that such a scenario was unlikely. He considered it improbable for the current Israeli forces and, to his knowledge, there was no practical plan for such an operation at present.
Israel and the United States have been conducting joint airstrikes against Iran since Saturday, which has resulted in retaliatory attacks from Iran. On Monday, Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu said that a US-Israeli war with Iran might take "some time," but not years.
