Jesada Warns Against Constitutional Amendment Scheme to Absolve Corrupt Politicians

Bangkok: "Jesada" has issued a cautionary statement against the proposed constitutional amendments, highlighting them as a ploy to absolve corrupt politicians of their crimes.

According to Thai News Agency, "Jesd" has unveiled a clandestine agreement between the "Orange-Gray" factions to establish a coalition government. This maneuver is seen as an effort to manipulate constitutional amendments to grant immunity to corrupt politicians. Mr. Jetsada Tonawanik, the prime ministerial candidate of the Rak Chart Party, has voiced his concerns during the concluding phase of the political campaign. He expressed his dismay, stating that what once seemed distasteful has now become "disgusting." He underscored the significance of the upcoming election as a pivotal moment that could either contribute to or prevent the country's destruction. The "orange" political faction, he noted, is inching towards structural changes that may have serious and irreversible impacts on the nation's foundational institutions: the country, religion, and the monarchy.

Concurrently, there is a campaign urging citizens to support the "grey" faction to counter the "orange" faction. However, the grey faction, according to Mr. Jetsada, has long been a source of the nation's woes, linked to illicit capital groups, call center scams, gambling dens, and widespread drug trafficking that jeopardizes the youth. Despite these issues, politicians remain silent or feign ignorance.

Mr. Jetsada also revealed insider information about a genuine political collusion he witnessed. This involved negotiations to forge an alliance between major political parties, including Pheu Thai, Bhumjaithai, and Prachachon. The negotiations focused on the distribution of benefits and ministerial positions, disregarding the ideologies promoted during their campaigns. The perceived conflict between these factions, he said, is merely a facade hiding a scheme to distribute benefits among themselves.

He further criticized the proposal to draft a new constitution, describing it as a trap by corrupt politicians aiming to dismantle the anti-corruption mechanisms entrenched in the 2017 constitution. "He says the 2017 Constitution is bad and needs amending, when in reality it's effective at cracking down on bad people. What he wants is to remove the ethical standards and independent organizations to escape prosecution and pave the way for an amnesty for corruption convicts, allowing them to become heroes again, all through the approval of this election," Mr. Jetsada asserted.

Mr. Jetsada called on the public to remain vigilant against the deceit and to recognize that the actual power resides with Parliament, not in predicting who will become Prime Minister. He urged voters to support the "Rak Chart Party," a new party with an unblemished record and a clear opposition to drafting a new constitution, to safeguard the nation from self-serving politicians.
