Bangkok: "Jesd" has expressed strong disapproval toward those who question the necessity of the military, asserting that such individuals have not genuinely understood the importance of having a national defense force. He emphasized the challenges of cohabiting within the same nation and warned that without a change in attitude, national progress would remain elusive.
According to Thai News Agency, Associate Professor Dr. Jetsada Tonawanik, who is the prime ministerial candidate from the Rak Chart Party, addressed the case involving Mr. Viroj Lakkhanaadisorn, the 99th candidate on the People's Party's party-list. Mr. Viroj had extended an invitation to the Director-General of the Army Intelligence Department to collaborate on military reforms. Dr. Jetsada remarked that there is a growing public discourse questioning the military's necessity, with some claiming newfound understanding of its purpose. However, he argued that the persistent sarcasm and disrespect toward the military indicate a failure to appreciate its role.
Dr. Jetsada further noted that whenever soldiers attempt to express their perspectives or seek understanding, their messages are often misconstrued. He criticized those who take credit for themselves while deflecting blame onto others. He stressed the importance of acknowledging and valuing the military's contributions to maintain national integrity and sovereignty.
"Consider your actions carefully. Without altering your behavior, our country's prosperity will remain out of reach, and your ability to contribute will be nullified," Dr. Jetsada cautioned.
