Jinny Yotsuda Takes Legal Action Against Dome Pakorn Lam for Alleged Harassment

Bangkok: Jinny Yotsuda Leelapanyalerd, the daughter of prominent Thai politician Khunying Sudarat Keyuraphan, has taken legal steps against Dome Pakorn Lam, a well-known singer, actor, and model. The legal action is in response to alleged sexually harassing comments made by Lam under Yotsuda's Facebook photo while he was allegedly intoxicated. The incident occurred on December 30th and involves charges under the Computer Crime Act and sexual harassment laws, which were newly enacted at the time.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Pariyat Angkurakit, spokesperson for the Thai Sang Thai Party, along with legal advisors, filed a police report on behalf of Yotsuda at Phaholyothin Police Station. The report seeks legal action against Lam, who is 46 years old, for the comments. The Superintendent of Phaholyothin Police Station stated that Yotsuda, being the direct victim, needs to provide a statement to the investigating officers to compile information for the case file before legal proceedings can commence. A meeting is expected to be arranged after the New Year to move forward with the case.

Jinny Yotsuda has already met with Police Lieutenant Sutthisa Wongpin, the Deputy Inspector (Investigation) at Phaholyothin Police Station, and expressed her intent to pursue legal action. The police have been investigating the incident's details and its impact. Although the exact date of Yotsuda's meeting with the authorities was not disclosed to the media, it is confirmed that the investigation is progressing.

The Superintendent revealed that the investigating officers have collected initial witness statements and evidence, and a formal complaint has been filed by an authorized representative of the victim. With sufficient evidence, a summons for Dome Pakorn Lam to appear before the investigating officers is imminent. The specific date for this summons depends on the officers' schedule, and Lam has not made contact since the incident.

If Dome Pakorn Lam appears to acknowledge the charges, he will face prosecution for violating the Computer Crime Act and sexual harassment, which could include defamation and causing humiliation. The police are currently gathering evidence and coordinating with Lam's schedule, anticipating that he will meet with officials early next month.
