“Jirayu” Criticizes “Wirote” for Ineffective Debates, Claims Focus Lost Amidst Rhetoric

Bangkok: Mr. Jirayu Huangsap, advisor to the prime minister, criticized Mr. Wiroj Lakkhana Adisorn, MP for the Prachachon Party list, for engaging in convoluted debates leading to a loss of focus on substantive issues. Jirayu expressed that the debates had devolved into mere performances, with attendees remembering only a repetitive “Kee..Kee..Kee..Kee..” movement, rather than the core topics of discussion. He argued that such issues could be addressed on a standard parliamentary platform.

According to Thai News Agency, Jirayu commented on the morning’s meeting, noting that the opposition’s behavior has been disrespectful. He described the proceedings as reminiscent of an “Indian movie,” creating shock among attendees, including himself, and resulting in table-slamming reactions. Jirayu highlighted the contributions of General Prawit Wongsuwan, MP and leader of the Palang Pracharath Party, and criticized the lack of clarity in the no-confidence debate.

Jirayu pointed out that many debated issues were previously investigated by former leaders of the Future Forward Party and Move Forward Party, suggesting they were stale. He specifically mentioned the black-chinned tilapia issue, which had been resolved by the government but was still brought up in debate. According to Jirayu, Mr. Natcha Boonchaiinsawat’s rhetoric made the discussions hard to follow, effectively breaking the listeners’ concentration. He argued that such topics could be addressed through normal parliamentary procedures rather than in a grand debate setting, which he deemed unnecessary and diluting the debate’s effectiveness.
