Kakana Khamyok Aims to Lead Thai Football Team to Victory Against Vietnam at SEA Games

Bangkok: “Kakana” Khamyok, the Thai national team midfielder, is fully prepared and hopes to help the team defeat Vietnam and win the men’s football championship tonight.

According to Thai News Agency, the Thai men’s national football team, who are 16-time champions, held a press conference yesterday with head coach Thawatchai Damrong-ongtrakul and defender Chanaphat Buaphan to discuss their readiness for tonight’s match against three-time champions Vietnam at Rajamangala National Stadium.

Following the press conference, Coach Wang led his team in a training session at the STB Academy. This session focused on refining details in both offensive and defensive game plans, as well as set pieces, in preparation for the match against Vietnam, and on addressing weaknesses. Anthony Hudson, the head coach of the Thai national senior team, was also present as an observer.

Meanwhile, Kakhana Khamyok, a midfielder for the Thai national team, expressed that he is fully prepared and believes that facing Vietnam is not stressful because it is the last tournament for many players, including himself. He is determined to do his best to win the gold medal at home.

For the SEA Games, Thailand last competed against Vietnam for the gold medal in 2021, hosted by Vietnam, where Vietnam narrowly defeated Thailand 1-0. In the most recent SEA Games, Thailand faced Indonesia in the final, losing 2-5 in overtime after a 2-2 draw. Thailand’s last SEA Games gold medal win was in 2017 in Malaysia.

The gold medal match between Thailand and Vietnam will be held at 7:30 PM tonight at Rajamangala National Stadium.
