Kim Jong-un Hails Elevated Relations with China in Message to Xi Jinping

Pyongyang: North Korean leader Kim Jong-un has declared that the relationship between North Korea and China has reached a "high level," as reported by North Korean state media. In a letter addressed to Chinese President Xi Jinping, Kim expressed his appreciation for the congratulatory messages sent by Xi on his re-election as the chairman of the State Affairs Commission during a pivotal parliamentary session. According to Thai News Agency, Kim Jong-un conveyed his satisfaction with the robust and enduring ties between the two nations, which he believes have been elevated to a new, higher standard. This advancement aligns with the aspirations of both governments and their citizens. Kim further committed to deepening the friendly relations and cooperation between North Korea and China, emphasizing socialism as the guiding principle. Earlier, on Thursday, Chinese President Xi Jinping had sent a congratulatory note to Kim Jong-un, recognizing his re-election to the top policy steering position for a third conse cutive term. Xi described the China-North Korea relationship as a "precious asset" and reiterated China's steadfast commitment to fostering the historically strong ties with Pyongyang. Last September, Kim and Xi held their first summit in over six years in Beijing, coinciding with China's military parade, underscoring the continued importance of their bilateral relationship.
