King Appoints Six High-Ranking Officials to New Positions in Ministry of Interior

Bangkok: His Majesty the King has appointed six high-ranking officials of the Ministry of Interior, including Kajornkiat, as Director-General of the Department of Lands. The appointments were announced in the Royal Gazette, detailing the transfer and promotion of key civil servants within the Ministry.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Phonphot Penphas has stepped down from his role as Director-General of the Department of Lands and will assume the position of Deputy Permanent Secretary at the Office of the Permanent Secretary. Mr. Khajornkiat Rakphanitchmanee, previously the Governor of Chachoengsao Province, has been appointed the new Director-General of the Department of Lands.

Mr. Chettha Mosikarat has resigned from his post as Deputy Permanent Secretary and will now serve as the Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation. Mr. Santi Rangsiruchi, formerly Inspector General of the Ministry, will take over as Governor of Chachoengsao Province.

In further changes, Mr. Tripop Wongtrairat has moved from his position as Governor of Rayong Province to become the Governor of Phetchaburi Province. Mr. Phasakon Bunyalak, who was the Director-General of the Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation, has been appointed as the Governor of Rayong Province.

These appointments, effective from 21 August 2025, were officially announced on 22 August 2025, with Mr. Phumtham Wechayachai, Deputy Prime Minister, as the Royal Command Recipient.
