Bangkok: King Power is celebrating a milestone achievement with the completion of its decade-long initiative, "100 Football Fields to Empower Thai Youth," which aimed to provide international standard artificial turf football fields across Thailand. The project has successfully reached its goal, delivering 100 football fields covering various regions, including mountainous areas, islands, and remote communities, thereby offering Thai youth equal opportunities for exercise and sports development.
According to Thai News Agency, the project spans all regions in Thailand, with 13 fields in the North, 29 in the Northeast, 24 in the Central region, 10 in the East, 6 in the West, and 18 in the South. Each field was designed with international standards in mind, ensuring safety and durability. These fields are more than just sports venues; they are spaces for learning and community development. King Power Thai Power remains committed to being a "giver," believing in the "power of the Thai people" and the potential for positive change.
The 100th field was handed over to Phangkhen Phithaya School in Na Tal District, Ubon Ratchathani Province. This school, which previously faced challenges due to inadequate sports facilities, now serves as a beacon of hope for the community. The new field has sparked enthusiasm and joy, with increased student enrollment and a vibrant atmosphere as young people and community members actively use the facility.
Mr. Wisawa Tobuddee, director of Phangkhen Pittaya School, expressed immense joy over the new football field, recognizing it as a significant opportunity for the school and community. The field has attracted more students and has been a catalyst for local sports development, with a professional coach, Coach Le, dedicated to training young athletes. The school plans to establish a sports club and collaborate with educational organizations to promote football activities and competitions in the area.
The project's impact extends beyond Ubon Ratchathani. At Ao Kapho School in Koh Yao District, Phang Nga Province, the artificial turf football field has been a transformative force. Mr. Udom Kuldee, the school's director, shared stories of students like Chakrin Leechai and Akkarin Chokeua, who have thrived through the opportunities provided by the field, earning scholarships and giving back to their community as coaches.
Similarly, on Koh Libong at Ban Batu Putih School in Trang Province, the football field has become a vital community hub. Mr. Rewat Chumnoonset highlighted its role in boosting the local economy, attracting tourists and creating opportunities for local vendors and businesses. The field has facilitated a thriving local economy, benefitting over 4,000 residents on the island.
The "100 Football Fields, Empowering Thai Youth" project not only achieved its numerical target but also succeeded in spreading hope, opportunity, and a sustainable future for Thai children and youth.
