Klatham Party Secures Victory in Nakhon Si Thammarat By-Election

Nakhon Si Thammarat: Klatham candidate Big O Kongkiat Ketsombat emerged victorious in the Nakhon Si Thammarat Constituency 8 by-election, defeating his rivals by a significant margin.

According to Thai News Agency, the unofficial results revealed that candidate number 5, Mr. Kongkiat Ketsombat of the Klatham Party, garnered 38,680 votes. His closest competitor, Mr. Sai Leungsinil from the Bhumjaithai Party, received 28,417 votes. The by-election, which covered the districts of Chawang, Chang Klang, Na Bon, and Pipun, saw a voter turnout of 70% out of 117,717 eligible voters.

Other candidates included Mr. Nattakit Yooduang Preecha from the Prachachon Party with 6,811 votes, Mr. Chinnaworn Boonyakiat of the Democrat Party with 4,190 votes, Lt. Col. Kawi Kraithong from the Prom Party with 238 votes, and Mr. Phitsanu Rosmalee of the New Alternative Party with 194 votes.

After the initial count, Colonel Thammanat Prompao, an advisor to the Klatham Party, announced Mr. Kongkiat’s victory. He expressed gratitude to the constituents of Nakhon District 8 for their trust and commitment to not disappointing them in the future. When questioned about the election process, Colonel Thammanat emphasized the significance of transparent communication regarding plans for the constituency’s welfare.

Candidates from other parties, such as Mr. Nattakit Yooduangpreecha of the Prachachon Party and Mr. Sai Leuangsinil of the Bhumjaithai Party, acknowledged their defeat. Mr. Leuangsinil and his wife, Mukdawan Leuangsinil, who was previously disqualified from political activities, congratulated the winner and stated that they do not intend to file any complaints regarding potential election law violations.
