Kosolwat Criticizes Motorcyclist’s Assault on Woman at Lat Phrao Intersection

Bangkok:A senior official has strongly condemned a motorcyclist involved in a violent incident at a busy intersection, describing his actions as barbaric and calling for immediate legal action.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Kosolwat Intuchanjong, Senior Prosecutor at the Office of Rights Protection, reacted to a viral video showcasing a motorcyclist physically assaulting a female driver at a five-way intersection in Lat Phrao. The confrontation reportedly began with a collision or verbal altercation, escalating to the motorcyclist smashing the car windows and assaulting the woman despite her apologies.

Mr. Kosolwat characterized the incident as reminiscent of a lawless jungle, highlighting the motorcyclist's blatant disregard for the law, harassment, property damage, and physical assault. He emphasized the need for police intervention and questioned the jurisdiction responsible for addressing the crime. He further urged the Department of Land Transport to consider revoking the motorcyclist's license, underscoring the importance of legal accountability.

The prosecutor insisted that if there was any fault on the part of the car driver, the motorcyclist should have pursued legal channels rather than resorting to violence. He called for the motorcyclist to be prosecuted, stating that such actions represented a serious challenge to legal authority and public safety. Mr. Kosolwat concluded by advocating for the protection of citizens' rights and their safety on the roads.
