Bangkok: Lawyer reveals that ‘Due Arisara’ offered to pay off the debt of a Bvlgari necklace worth 7 million baht after the pawn shop rejected the offer to pay in installments. ‘Lawyer Ong’ insists that the full amount must be paid. If the return is delayed, legal action will be taken to the fullest extent of the law.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Nitisak Meekhud, or Lawyer Aing, who represents Due Arisara, disclosed the developments in the case involving Due Arisara’s pawn of a Bvlgari Serpenti Tubare Choker Necklace. The necklace, valued at over 15 million baht, was pawned for 7 million baht with Brand Name Money Co., Ltd. Lawyer Aing stated that efforts had been made to negotiate with Mr. Witoon Kaengngan, or Lawyer Ong, representing the pawnshop. Due Arisara had proposed a partial payment of 2.5 million baht, followed by monthly installments of 100,000 baht, as she needed to manage other debts. However, the pawnshop demanded the full 7 million baht. With no further negotiations since the rejection of the offer, Lawyer Aing indicated they might need to reconsider their approach or strive to gather the total sum.
The situation regarding two additional bags pawned for 3 million baht at another location was also addressed. While some progress in negotiations has been made, the issue of securing a lump sum payment remains unresolved, leading to a request for an extension on the payment terms.
Regarding rumors of Due Arisara’s return to Thailand, Mr. Nitisak clarified that Due Arisara remains in Taiwan, attending to her young child, and has no immediate plans to return. Communication with Madam May’s lawyer has been ongoing, with Due Arisara committed to negotiating asset returns, although the timeline for this remains uncertain due to the significant amount involved.
Mr. Witoon Kaengngan, representing Brand Name Money Company, explained that as an authorized representative of the pawnshop, he had been contacted regarding Due Arisara’s installment proposal. The shop maintained its stance, insisting on a full repayment, matching the initial transaction. No further proposals have been made by Due Arisara’s lawyer, pending further discussions with her.
For individuals who have approached the Pathumwan Police Station, initial detailed statements and supporting documents have been provided, with witnesses, including an adult and Madam May, expected to offer additional insights. The urgency of the refund has been emphasized, with expectations of resolution within the month. Should Due Arisara fail to meet this timeframe, comprehensive legal actions are anticipated. Discussions about the necklace with Madam May have begun, though specifics are pending further negotiations with Due Arisara.
