Lawyer Saiyut Reveals Concerns Over Investigation Involving Way Thaitanium

Bangkok: Today, at 1:30 PM, lawyer Saiyut Pengbunchu, representing Nana Raibeena and Way Thaitanium, visited the Central Investigation Bureau. He disclosed that Way was summoned to provide additional testimony. Saiyut mentioned that Way is uncertain about the questions he will face and has not prepared any evidence. Way is naturally apprehensive due to the accusations and the uncertainty over potential custody or charges. Despite his readiness, Way must first provide his statement. The lawyer anticipates that police will require Way to explain the same situation as Nana, specifically whether Nana had victims transfer money into Way’s account. When questioned about a reported 50 million baht transfer into Way’s account, the lawyer noted uncertainty but mentioned an initial investigation found 1 million baht transferred into Way’s account, followed by Way transferring 1.5 million baht. The reasons for these transfers are under investigation.

According to Thai News Agency, the lawyer has not commented on the possibility of arrest warrants being issued post-investigation. He admitted the incident has impacted Way and Nana’s business, especially their 42 barbershops with nearly 100 barbers, which are in turmoil regarding the business’s future. Saiyut urged the public not to criticize the business, as it involves other partners beyond Way and Nana. The lawyer is uneasy about the situation, as they await the police’s decision on issuing arrest warrants or detainment. If an arrest warrant is issued, they must prepare for bail to contest the case. Saiyut is concerned about criminal cases due to potential prison sentences and desires discussions between debtor and creditor to resolve debts, as court cases could take years to resolve.
