(LEAD) CJ Logistics Q2 net rises 2 pct on delivery deals

CJ Logistics Corp., South Korea's biggest logistics company, said Friday its second-quarter net profit rose 2 percent from a year earlier on increased delivery deals. Net profit for the three months to June rose to 61.3 billion won (US$45 million) from 60.11 billion won during the same period of last year, the company said in a statement. "Increased last-mile deliveries and contract logistics (CL) deals with corporate customers propped up the bottom line," it said. Operating profit climbed 12 percent to 125.36 billion won in the June quarter from 112.39 billion won a year earlier. Sales were up 3.3 percent to 3.06 trillion won from 2.96 trillion won during the same period.
