Police are reviewing CCTV footage to apprehend the suspect.
According to Thai News Agency, CCTV footage from inside a shopping mall in Nakhon Pathom province captured a male suspect, approximately 170 cm tall, wearing a long-sleeved plaid shirt and a black full-face helmet. He entered a gold shop inside the mall, threatened employees with a gun, and stole 23 gold necklaces weighing 2 baht each (totaling 46 baht). He then fired shots to clear a path before escaping on a gray and black Honda Wave motorcycle without license plates. He sped away along Phetkasem Road towards Nakhon Chai Si district. The incident occurred last night.
Following the incident, Pol. Maj. Gen. Pitak Uppapong, Commander of the Nakhon Pathom Provincial Police, along with officers from the Nakhon Pathom City Police Station, inspected the scene. Initially, two spent blank cartridges were found at the scene and collected as evidence.
The perpetrator was found to have scouted the area before using a gun to threaten and force the victim. Witnesses stated that the perpetrator had surveyed the location for approximately two hours before the robbery. Taking advantage of the time before closing, the suspect used a firearm to force employees to hand over 23 gold necklaces weighing 2 baht each, placing them into a plastic bag they had prepared. The total value of the stolen items is over 3.5 million baht.
