M6 Motorway Opens for Trial Service to Alleviate Flooding

Bang Pa-in:The M6 motorway is now open for trial service between Bang Pa-in and Hin Kong, providing a vital travel route for those affected by flooding.

According to Thai News Agency, the Department of Highways has announced that the M6 "Bang Pa-in - Hin Kong" motorway will be open 24 hours a day, free of charge, until October 11th. This initiative is part of an effort to ease travel disruptions caused by flooding.

The Intercity Expressway Division, following the Ministry of Transport's policy, has initiated this trial opening of Intercity Expressway No. 6 (M6), specifically the Bang Pa-in - Hin Kong section, in both directions. The goal is to offer an alternative route for the public to navigate around flood-affected areas.

The trial service commenced at 6:00 PM on October 6, 2026, and will continue until midnight on October 11, 2026, or until the flooding situation improves. The Department of Highways will continuously monitor the situation to make necessary adjustments to route management, ensuring optimal benefit for public travel.

As the motorway is still in the preparation phase before its official opening, the Department of Highways urges road users to plan their travel carefully, exercise extra caution, and adhere strictly to warning signs and official instructions to ensure safety.
