Maha sarakham: The 6th "Maha Mai Mueang Kham" event, organized by Maha Sarakham University in collaboration with the Ministry of Culture, has successfully elevated Thai silk to an international level. The event aimed to encourage younger generations to integrate traditional knowledge into the modern economy.

According to Thai News Agency, the event was organized by Mahasarakham University (MSU) in partnership with the Department of Cultural Promotion, Ministry of Culture, the Mahasarakham Provincial Cultural Office, and various partner networks. It was held to honor Her Majesty Queen Sirikit, the Queen Mother, and promote the wisdom of Mahasarakham woven silk and royal-style Thai costumes as an element of soft power, with the goal of developing them into a creative economy on a global scale.

The event featured a range of activities, including an exhibition of eight royal-approved Thai dress styles titled "Thai Beauty, Inspiration from Her Majesty Queen Sirikit." There was also a Thai dress design workshop, an activity for writing inspirational messages about wearing traditional Thai clothing, a video presentation on royal-approved Thai dresses, and a photo booth titled "One Thai Dress Image in a Lifetime," all created by students from the Digital Media Content Creation and Innovation program at the Faculty of Humanities and Social Sciences.

Additional highlights included a fashion show of traditional Thai costumes favored by the royal family and a fashion competition showcasing Maha Sarakham woven fabrics. These provided young designers with an opportunity to demonstrate their creativity in adapting local fabrics for contemporary use. Workshops on local wisdom, the creation of "Flowers of Loyalty to Her Majesty Queen Mother Sirikit," and the sale of creative cultural products such as Isaan printed products, indigo-dyed batik fabrics, and cultural Art Toys were also part of the event. Various departments and faculties of Maha Sarakham University contributed works to this cultural showcase.
