Mahidol University Partners with WE-WIN BIO to Advance Health Innovations from Natural Extracts

Bangkok: Mahidol University's Faculty of Pharmaceutical Sciences has entered into a strategic partnership with WE-WIN BIO-MEDICAL CO., LTD., a prominent biotechnology company from Taiwan, to foster research and development in health products derived from natural extracts. This collaboration was formalized through a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) signed at the Cosmoprof CBE ASEAN Bangkok 2026, a prominent trade show for the beauty and cosmetics industry.

According to Thai News Agency, the partnership will span five years and aims to create a framework for joint research and development projects, focusing on natural plant extracts. A significant aspect of this collaboration is the production of the APERDU Follicle Revitalizing Essence (P1) scalp serum in Thailand, facilitated by a separate agreement between V-Win Bio-Medical and PharmTOP, Mahidol University's pharmaceutical manufacturing arm. This initiative ensures that APERDU products, which combine exclusive natural extract innovations with international manufacturing standards, can deliver consistent quality and foster consumer trust.

Mr. James Hsieh, Founder and CEO of V-Win Bio-Medical Co., Ltd., highlighted the rigorous testing and approval processes that APERDU products undergo. He emphasized the strategic decision to relocate manufacturing to Thailand, aligning with professional pharmaceutical standards, as a pivotal move for the company's expansion in Southeast Asia.

Associate Professor Dr. Surakit Natisuwan, Dean of the Faculty of Pharmacy at Mahidol University, expressed the institution's dedication to transforming scientific expertise into practical applications. The collaboration aims to advance both institutions through shared knowledge in pharmaceutical sciences.

V-Win Bio-Medical is leveraging its renowned U.S. Green Extraction Technology and extensive research experience to develop bioactive compounds from diverse plant species. The company's collaboration with Tokyo Natural Lab in Japan further supports its product line, introducing premium Japanese plant-based ingredients and marine-derived actives to the ASEAN market for the first time.

At the Cosmoprof CBE ASEAN Bangkok 2026, V-Win Bio-Medical also unveiled eight new natural active ingredients for the pharmaceutical and cosmetic industries. Attendees can explore these innovations at booth C09.
