Man Apprehended After Shooting Spree at Patong School Sent to Psychiatric Hospital

Songkhla: Police have apprehended a man who opened fire at Patong School in Songkhla province and sent him to a psychiatric hospital. He has initially been charged with three serious offenses.

According to Thai News Agency, police escorted an 18-year-old man, who went on a shooting rampage at Patong Prathankiriwat School in Songkhla province, resulting in the death of school director Sasipatch Sinsamorn and injuries to students. He was transported to Songkhla Rajanagarindra Psychiatric Hospital with extreme security measures for his safety during the journey. As a psychiatric patient, he was accompanied by a police officer and a medical team in the ambulance, along with a police escort. The suspect remained calm throughout the journey from Hat Yai Hospital.

Regarding the legal case, the suspect faces initial charges for three serious offenses: intentional homicide, attempted murder, and violations of the Firearms Act.
