Rayong: Faced with a debt collection call in front of friends, a man pulled out a 9mm pistol and shot two dead and injured two others. A man renting a house shot and killed a shop owner and a friend, and injured two others, over a debt dispute. He was arrested in Chanthaburi. This incident occurred around midnight last night. Police from Nikhom Pattana Police Station in Rayong Province responded to a shooting in front of a house in Moo 3, Mab Kha Subdistrict, Nikhom Pattana District, Rayong Province. At the scene, they found a marble table with bottles of drinks, food, and beer cans. Two people were found dead: Mr. Narit, approximately 47 years old, the owner of a convenience store, who had been shot six times in the head and body, and Mr. Sarawut, 33 years old, who was shot in the forehead and below the right ribcage. Two other people were also injured; one had a bullet wound to the right thigh, and the other had a bullet graze on the shin, sustaining minor injuries. Both injured individuals attempted to fle e and hide behind another house to save their lives.

According to Thai News Agency, one of the injured provided information that before the incident, the deceased and three friends were drinking together as usual. The perpetrator, named "Nick," was a driver for an app and was a debtor to Mr. Naris's grocery store, having also borrowed money from Mr. Naris. Before the incident, Nick came to buy something at Mr. Naris's store and demanded payment for the outstanding debt, leading to a verbal argument and a physical altercation. It is believed that the perpetrator became angry at being questioned about the debt in front of others and walked across the street back to his house. Mr. Naris and Mr. Sarawut then followed him to continue the conversation, leading to another verbal confrontation. Nick then pulled out a gun from his car and opened fire, killing Mr. Naris and Mr. Sarawut. The friends, hearing the gunshots, ran to see what happened and were injured by stray bullets.

After the incident, Mr. Nick had a friend who lived with him help him escape in a car. Investigators from Nikhom Pattana Police Station quickly reviewed CCTV footage and coordinated with neighboring areas to intercept the suspect. Finally, police from Mueang Chanthaburi Police Station arrested the suspect at 2:40 AM.

Prior to being brought to Nikhom Phatthana Police Station, the suspect was initially investigated to determine his motive, and preparations are being made to send him to forensic officers to check for gunpowder residue as per legal procedure. Meanwhile, the suspect and his overweight accomplice, who drove the getaway car, continue to refuse to give any interviews. The perpetrator, who wears glasses, also declined to be interviewed.
