Manchester City Faces Potential 40-60 Point Deduction for Financial Violations

Manchester: Media reports suggest that Manchester City, a leading team in the English Premier League, could face a 40-60 point deduction if found guilty of 115 counts of financial fair play violations. Manchester City have been accused by the Premier League of more than 115 breaches of financial regulations over the past nine years, covering the 2009-10 to 2017-18 seasons. An independent commission has been investigating these allegations since February 2023.

According to Thai News Agency, there is still no set date for the verdict in this case. Previously, it was reported that if Manchester City are found guilty, they could face penalties such as points deductions for several consecutive seasons, as well as expulsion from the Premier League. Recently, Kieran Maguire, a football finance expert, stated in an interview that Manchester City could face a 40-60 point penalty if found guilty of 115 counts of financial fair play violations.
