MCOT and Suan Sunandha University Forge Partnership to Develop Future Media Professionals

Bangkok: MCOT (Modernine TV) and Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University have signed a cooperation agreement to develop the potential of students and the new generation, supplying quality personnel to the digital-era mass media industry. This initiative provides students with opportunities to gain real-world experience in news, television, and online media.

According to Thai News Agency, MCOT Public Company Limited and Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University have signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to jointly develop the potential of students and new generation personnel, preparing them for the mass media and creative industries in the digital age. This initiative provides students with opportunities to learn from real-world experiences in news, television, and online platforms, fostering the creation of quality media in the future. Dr. Yada Kasayapanan, Acting President and CEO of MCOT Public Company Limited, and Associate Professor Dr. Wittaya Mekkham, Vice President for Planning and Quality Improvement of Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University, along with executives from both organizations, witnessed the signing ceremony.

The event included a presentation of videos introducing both organizations before proceeding to the signing ceremony of the Memorandum of Understanding (MOU). A group photo was taken, and commemorative gifts were exchanged to symbolize the collaboration in developing future media professionals. This collaboration aims to provide students with practical work experience through internships, media production, event management, and work in the entertainment industry.

Dr. Yada stated that this collaboration is another important step in developing the potential of young people to enter the mass media industry, in radio, television, and digital platforms. Students participating in the internship will learn from real-world experiences outside the classroom and develop problem-solving skills, which are crucial for the media profession. She added that the media industry is currently transitioning to the digital age, and there is a need to create opportunities for young people to participate in content creation and develop communication methods that keep pace with modern consumer behavior. She believes that the collaboration between MCOT and Suan Sunandha Rajabhat University will help produce quality personnel for the Thai media industry and contribute to society in the long term.

Associate Professor Dr. Witthaya stated that this collaboration will provide students with direct experience from real businesses in terms of technology, personnel, and work culture. This is a crucial opportunity to prepare them for the job market. Furthermore, there are plans to expand the collaboration to include inviting experts from MCOT as special guest speakers to share their experiences with students, as well as providing opportunities for university faculty and staff to conduct study visits in order to develop teaching methods that keep pace with the changing media industry.
