Meteorological Department warns Eastern region to brace for heavy rain

Meanwhile, the southern and southeasterly winds will cover the eastern region and the Gulf of Thailand. This will cause some areas of Thailand to continue to experience heavy rain, with some areas in the eastern region experiencing very heavy rain. The waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand will weaken, with the upper Andaman Sea having waves approximately 2 meters high, while the lower Andaman Sea and the upper Gulf of Thailand will have waves 1-2 meters high. In areas with thunderstorms, the waves will be higher tha n 2 meters. On July 22, 2024, the monsoon trough will move up to cover Laos and northern Vietnam, entering a low-pressure cell in southern China, along with a moderate southwest monsoon covering the Andaman Sea, Thailand, and the Gulf of Thailand. This will reduce rainfall in Thailand, but there will still be heavy rain in some areas of the North, Northeast, and East. The waves in the Andaman Sea and the Gulf of Thailand are moderate.
