Mexico Breaks Record with World’s Largest Human Football Jersey Mosaic

Tuxtla gutierrez: The town of Tuxtla Gutierrez in the state of Chiapas, Mexico, celebrated a remarkable achievement as it set a new Guinness World Record with 4,757 volunteers gathering at the Victor Manuel Reyna Stadium to form the world's largest human mosaic depicting football jerseys. This extraordinary feat broke the previous record set in Colombia in 2018.

According to Thai News Agency, officials from Guinness World Records confirmed the accomplishment after participants donned colorful shirts and arranged themselves on a football field to create a formation resembling three football jerseys, clearly visible from above. This event saw a turnout that significantly surpassed the previous record of 2,891 participants in Bucaramanga, Colombia on November 7, 2018.

The Mexican Tourism Agency lauded the event on social media, noting that it was a part of the Mundial Social 2026 project. The agency praised the coordination and dedication of everyone involved, emphasizing that when Mexicans come together, remarkable achievements are possible.

As Mexico prepares to co-host the 2026 FIFA World Cup with the United States and Canada, the Mexican portion of the tournament is scheduled to take place in Mexico City, Guadalajara, and Monterrey, from June 11 to July 19.
