Min Pechaya Granted Bail, Asserts Commitment to Truth

Bangkok: "Min Pechaya" expressed relief after being granted bail by the court, emphasizing her belief in the existence of a singular truth. She revealed that the legal proceedings have impacted her personal life, clarifying that her role was limited to being a presenter and that she did not engage in any wrongdoing alongside The Icon.

According to Thai News Agency, at 3:00 PM, following the court's decision to release her on bail, Ms. Peechaya Wattanamontri, known as Min, addressed reporters alongside her lawyer. She conveyed gratitude to the court and the justice system for allowing her the opportunity to defend her case. Min stressed that she has consistently maintained her innocence and is prepared to face the legal process multiple times if necessary to uphold the truth. The incidents of October 17, 2024, were significant to her, and she reiterated her readiness to prove her innocence.

When questioned about The Icon's responsibilities in the case, Min stated that he lacked detailed information and awaited the truth like everyone else. He expressed sympathy for all parties involved and noted the absence of communication, apology, or contact with The Icon since the incident and subsequent press conference.

Ms. Pechaya concluded the brief interview, citing fatigue from court proceedings but affirmed her willingness to engage with the media throughout the trial.

Kelvin Teerawatthananont, Min's boyfriend, shared that the incident profoundly affected those around him, including his family. He emphasized the importance of respecting the judicial process, urging people not to jump to conclusions or make accusations on social media without knowing the facts. He affirmed their belief in the judicial process, confidence in Min's innocence, and readiness to support her throughout the ordeal.

Thanakorn Waekwaree, Min's lawyer, explained that bail was granted due to the absence of flight risk and consistent denial of charges by the accused. The case presents valid points for defense, and initially, a cash security of 3 million baht was required for bail, later reduced to 1 million baht, with travel restrictions imposed.

The court has set a hearing to examine evidence on July 20th. Ms. Pechaya's involvement with The Icon was limited to a short tenure as a presenter from 2023 to 2024, separate from the main case against the company. The legal process will be reviewed, maintaining that no offenses were committed. The Icon company will continue legal proceedings to determine its culpability under the Pyramid Scheme Act.

Regarding international cases under investigation, the lawyer mentioned they were not informed of any charges yet. He acknowledged that proving innocence might take time, but justice would eventually prevail.

Reporters noted the atmosphere as the Criminal Court temporarily released defendants in the Icon case. During Ms. Peechaya's media interview, Mr. Yuranan Pamornmontri, or Sam, who also received bail, exited the courthouse. He left promptly without addressing questions, bowing to the media before departing.
