Prachinburi:Minister Supamas Isarabhakdi visited Prachinburi and Nakhon Nayok provinces to assess the ongoing flood situation and provide support to those affected. Her visit included distributing relief supplies and expediting plans for post-flood recovery.
According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Supamas, who is attached to the Prime Minister's Office, visited six locations within the provinces. Her first stop was Soi Public Health in Mueang Prachinburi District, where floodwaters had inundated roads and homes, forcing some residents into temporary shelters.
Subsequent visits included the Wat Chaeng shelter in Na Mueang Subdistrict and the new Prachinburi Bus Terminal, where she inspected facilities and spoke with evacuees, including vulnerable groups such as children and the elderly, about their needs.
Further inspections led her to Wat Laem Phai and Ban Suan Saensuk Village, where she assessed the drainage systems and ongoing problem resolution efforts. She also visited Wat Prasitthiwet to distribute relief bags and provide encouragement to the displaced residents.
Ms. Supamas noted that while water levels in Prachinburi have decreased, some areas remain flooded, with residents displaced for over ten days. The Department of Disaster Prevention and Mitigation is actively working to accelerate drainage efforts.
Post-flood recovery efforts are essential due to damage to homes and personal property, including vehicles. Cleanup operations will require coordination with military and transportation agencies to facilitate the return to normalcy.
