Ministry of Defence Unveils New Spokesperson Team Focused on Strategic Communication

Bangkok: The Ministry of Defence has announced the formation of its new spokesperson team, aligning with its strategic communication policy to enhance public trust through "speed, truth, and clarity."

According to Thai News Agency, on May 1, 2026, a press conference was held at the Defence Technology Institute, where Rear Admiral Surasan Kongsiri, Spokesperson of the Ministry of Defence, introduced the team. The team includes Colonel Nusra Woraphatrathorn, Captain Nara Khunthotom, and Commander Natthanai Chanpleng as Deputy Spokespersons. The event marked the launch of the spokesperson team and the announcement of the Ministry's policy aimed at advancing strategic communications.

The Ministry emphasized the importance of developing interconnected, effective, and responsive communication and public relations systems to keep pace with the rapidly changing information landscape. The spokesperson highlighted that the primary objective is to deliver military policies, missions, and roles to the public accurately, promptly, and transparently, thereby fostering public understanding and confidence in government operations.

The Ministry also noted that in the context of modern security, communication extends beyond information dissemination.
