Ministry of Education Implements Strict Anti-Corruption Measures for Teacher Recruitment

Bangkok: The Ministry of Education is introducing strict measures to ensure honesty and fairness in the recruitment exams for teachers and educational personnel. The Minister of Education has issued a strong warning against corruption in these exams, underscoring the importance of being both knowledgeable and a good person to teach others.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Tatiyaphat Pitisetthaphan, spokesperson for the Ministry of Education, disclosed that during the 5th/2026 high-level executive meeting at the Office of the Secretary-General of the Teachers' Council, Minister Prasert Chantharawong instructed all departments to conduct selection examinations with honesty, transparency, and fairness. The Minister emphasized that corruption will not be tolerated, as the Ministry is responsible for developing human resources and improving education quality. He insisted that candidates for teaching positions must be selected transparently and based on genuine knowledge and ability.

The Minister of Education stated, "We are sending people to teach children and build the future of the country. To be able to teach, they must be good people with knowledge and abilities. Corruption should have no place in the education system."

Mr. Tatiyapat further elaborated that the Minister stressed the importance of all agencies adhering strictly to this policy to build public confidence in the Ministry's commitment to good governance, transparency, and accountability. The public is encouraged to report any suspicious behavior or information related to corruption in the selection exams. The Ministry is prepared to investigate such claims fairly and take decisive legal action to uphold the standards and credibility of the Thai education system.
