Bangkok: The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has received the bodies of the three crew members, including Mayuree Naree, at Suvarnabhumi Airport and will send them back to their hometowns. The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has taken responsibility for ensuring the safe return of the remains of the crew members who tragically lost their lives in the Strait of Hormuz attack.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Mangkon Pratumkaew, Director-General of the Department of Consular Affairs, represented the Ministry of Foreign Affairs at a solemn ceremony held at Suvarnabhumi Airport. The event was to honor the three Thai crew members of the Thai-flagged cargo ship "Mayuree Naree," who perished on March 11, 2026, while navigating the dangerous waters of the Strait of Hormuz.

The crew members identified were Mr. Phanupong Muentan, Mr. Kiattisak Pawaphuchake, and Mr. Chavalit Chaiyawong. In a show of respect and condolence, the Director-General, alongside executives from Precious Shipping, the owner of the vessel, laid a wreath at the airport. This gesture was made before the bodies were dispatched to their respective hometowns, enabling the families to conduct appropriate religious rites.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs has been in close cooperation with the Royal Thai Embassy in Tehran and the Department of Consular Affairs to coordinate and streamline the procedures for repatriating the bodies from Iran to Thailand. The Ministry has expressed its appreciation for the collaborative efforts extended by both Omani and Iranian authorities in facilitating the smooth return of the deceased crew members.
