According to Thai News Agency, recent media reports have highlighted significant progress in identifying those involved in the local government exam corruption. Information and evidence currently under investigation point to the involvement of two DSI officers acting as intermediaries in the transfer of funds from a network of brokers to individuals in Bangkok. The Ministry of Justice has recognized the gravity of this situation and is prioritizing it highly.
On September 11, 2026, the Ministry directed the Director-General of the Department of Special Investigation to take immediate action under civil service regulations concerning the two implicated officers. These officers, one a Senior Specialist and the other a Specialist level investigator, may face suspension pending further inquiries, in line with the Civil Service Act B.E. 2561 (2018), the Civil Service Commission's Disciplinary Procedures B.E. 2556 (2013), and the Code of Ethics for Special Investigators and Special Case Officers, to ensure a transparent and unbiased investigation.
The Ministry of Justice has made it clear that it will not shield or support those accused of misconduct. No leniency will be extended, regardless of the department within the Ministry involved. Should the investigation confirm any wrongdoing, both disciplinary and legal actions will be pursued based on factual evidence.
