According to Thai News Agency, the Ministry of Transport, through the Transportation Safety Operations Center (TSOC), summarized travel data for this period, highlighting that public transportation systems adequately met public demand. A total of 10,672,936 people traveled, marking a 5.35% decrease from the same period in the previous year. Of these, 9,579,544 people used domestic public transportation, with rail systems being the most utilized at 43.22%. Regional travel statistics showed the Central Region leading in outbound air travel, while the Southern and Northern regions had significant rail travel numbers. Traffic in and out of Bangkok showed a slight decrease, with vehicle numbers on major highways and expressways dropping by 3.2% and 21.25%, respectively.

The Ministry emphasized rigorous safety measures, conducting inspections across various transportation modes. Public buses underwent checks at 222 locations, with 45 vehicles found defective. Rail services were also scrutinized, resulting in one personnel replacement due to alcohol presence. Inspections extended to ports and vessels, ensuring compliance with safety standards.

In analyzing road network accidents, there were 881 incidents, resulting in 994 injuries and 105 fatalities, primarily due to speeding. Motorcycles were frequently involved, and Bangkok registered the highest number of accidents and fatalities. These figures represent a notable decrease in accidents, fatalities, and injuries from the previous year. Rail, waterway, and air networks reported minimal to no accidents.

The Ministry of Transport continues to enforce safety protocols, with the Department of Land Transport monitoring buses and drivers at numerous locations nationwide. Emphasis is placed on proper licensing, alcohol-free operation, adherence to driving regulations, and ensuring vehicle safety. The Marine Department oversees navigation on the Chao Phraya River, offering free shuttle services and maintaining security through CCTV monitoring.

The Transport Company Limited and Bangkok Mass Transit Authority have expanded services to accommodate travelers, providing free shuttle buses and connecting passengers to various locations. Rail passenger volumes are anticipated to decrease slightly, with special train services added to manage the expected increase in return travel.

As people start returning to Bangkok, transportation agencies are urged to integrate safety measures across all travel modes, ensuring efficient and sufficient service to prevent passenger stranding.

The Ministry of Transport remains committed to facilitating safe travel during the New Year festival under the slogan "Happy Festival, Everywhere in Thailand: Convenient and Safe Travel on the Transportation Network." Travelers can contact various hotlines for information and assistance.
