Bangkok: The Ministry of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation (MHESI) has announced the postponement of the TGAT/TPAT exams originally scheduled for December 13-15, specifically for the flood-affected southern regions, to address concerns among youth and parents.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Surasak Panjareonvorakul, the Minister of Higher Education, Science, Research, and Innovation, highlighted the severe flooding affecting several provinces in the lower southern region, particularly in Hat Yai District, Songkhla Province, which has caused significant hardship to the public. The flooding may impact the TGAT/TPAT2-5 examinations in terms of youth preparation, travel inconvenience, and the management of examination venues scattered across disaster-affected areas.

Minister Surasak has instructed the Office of the Permanent Secretary of MHESI to urgently consult with the Council of University Presidents of Thailand (CUPT) regarding the postponement of exams in these flood-affected areas. This decision aims to alleviate the anxiety of the youth and their parents, ensuring they have sufficient time to prepare for the exams and can confidently participate when they are rescheduled.

The Minister expressed support for all citizens in the affected areas, including the youth preparing for the exams. He assured that the Ministry is ready to coordinate with relevant agencies to monitor the situation closely and will act carefully to ensure that no child loses their educational opportunity. The Ministry is committed to not leaving anyone behind and will do its utmost to help the public overcome the crisis.
