Bangkok: The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society (DE) has issued a warning against fraudulent online advertisements promoting jobs in an orange packing factory in Australia. This cautionary message highlights the risks of financial losses and identity theft associated with these deceptive claims.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Wethang Puangsap, spokesperson for the Ministry of Digital Economy and Society, reported findings from the Thailand Anti-Fake News Center (AFNC) concerning a particular Facebook page named "Pongsapak Anansapcharoen." This page falsely advertised job opportunities in Australia, asserting that the advertisement was legally sanctioned and coordinated through the Ministry of Labour. The DE Ministry, in collaboration with the Department of Employment, Ministry of Labour, has confirmed that these claims are false. The advertiser did not provide required documentation, such as a power of attorney from the overseas employer, which is necessary for legal job placement advertisements. This failure constitutes a breach of the Employment Agency Act and is categorized as misleading information.
The Ministry of Digital Economy and Society advises the public to rely on and share only information released by official sources. Individuals are encouraged to verify the authenticity of news or website links before making any decisions.
