Bangkok: The Treasury Department is set to launch mobile coin exchange units throughout February 2026 to facilitate the exchange of coins for the public.

According to Thai News Agency, these mobile units will be deployed by the Currency Management Division, offering a convenient service for individuals who wish to exchange coins but have previously faced challenges accessing such services.

The service will accommodate all denominations of circulating coins, including those in good condition and damaged coins such as blackened, cut, hammered, punched, or bent coins. The schedule for the mobile units is as follows: February 3rd at Singburi Provincial Treasury Office, February 5th at Saraburi Provincial Treasury Office, February 6th at Prachinburi City Shrine, February 10-11 at a PTT gas station in front of the City Pillar Shrine in Suphan Buri Province, February 13th at Nonthaburi Provincial Hall, February 17th at Nakhon Nayok Provincial Treasury Office, February 19th at Ayutthaya Provincial Hall, February 20th at Ang Thong Provincial Hall, February 23-24 at Phra Pathom Chedi in Nakhon Pathom Province, and February 26th at Chachoengsao Provincial Pavilion.

The initiative aims to enhance the circulation of coins by providing an additional channel for people to exchange coins they have collected. It is particularly beneficial for those who have previously been unable to access coin exchange services. Each individual can exchange up to 10,000 baht worth of coins per day across all denominations. The public is encouraged to clean their coins before exchanging them and to avoid using individual bags to expedite the sorting and service process.
