Mongkolkitt Resigns from New Alternative Party, Plans to Form New Political Group

Singapore: Mongkolkitt Suksintharanon has officially resigned from the New Alternative Party, submitting his resignation along with former MPs to the Election Commission.

According to Thai News Agency, Mongkolkitt plans to continue his political journey by forming a new group called the "Bangkok Flying Team," aiming to participate in the upcoming Bangkok gubernatorial election.

Mr. Mongkolkitt, joined by Ms. Phakorn Chantarakana and Lt. Gen. Aswin Ratchadanont, formally submitted their resignation letters, declaring their independence from the New Alternative Party. Mongkolkitt expressed dissatisfaction with changes in party leadership post-election, emphasizing his commitment to seeking justice and honoring the votes he received. He declared his intention to abide by forthcoming decisions from the Administrative Court and the Constitutional Court, anticipated within the next few months.

In a bid to maintain his political influence, Mongkolkitt announced the formation of a new political party, the "Kao Laam Party" (Progressive Party), with registration set for March 4th. He aims to meet funding requirements promptly to hold an inaugural party meeting, positioning himself as the party leader.

Addressing Mr. Rachen, the current leader of the New Alternative Party, Mongkolkitt advised him to prioritize his health and manage expectations. He noted the importance of respecting voters' choices and hinted at potential influences from interactions with Bhumjaithai Party's Mr. Songsak Thongsri.

Looking ahead, Mongkolkitt will launch the "Bangkok Flying Group" to prepare for the gubernatorial election, inviting eligible candidates to join under this new banner. Initial interviews are scheduled for tomorrow, with a focus on candidates possessing a bachelor's degree and a minimum one-year residency in Bangkok. The group's policy will prominently feature the integration of flying vehicles, with the gubernatorial candidate announcement expected soon.
