Monitor Lizard Surprises Prime Minister Anutin at Government House

Bangkok: A monitor lizard waited to ambush Prime Minister Anutin Charnvirakul in the middle of Government House before making a swift escape into the water. The unexpected encounter took place as the Prime Minister was returning from a meeting of the National Security Council (NSC).

According to Thai News Agency, reporters witnessed the incident as Prime Minister and Minister of Interior Anutin Charnvirakul walked back to Government House and encountered the monitor lizard along his path. The animal quickly jumped into the water, prompting the Prime Minister to express his surprise with the exclamation, "Wow, what a lucky day!" When questioned about whether he considered the encounter to be a sign of good fortune, Prime Minister Anutin affirmed, "Of course, if you see these animals, it's considered lucky."
