According to Thai News Agency, "Mook" Oranicha Chongsthapornpun and "Sabi" Sabrina Sopita Wedler, ranked 270th in the world, delivered an impressive performance against the 16th-ranked Japanese duo, Gaho Ozawa and Mai Tanabe. The match concluded in two straight games, 21-17, 21-19, during the first round of the Perodua Malaysia Masters 2026, a World Tour Super 500 event.
In the upcoming second round, "Mook-Sabi" is set to compete against Francesca Corbett and Jenny Kai from the United States, who hold the 25th position in world rankings.
In the mixed doubles category, "Bas" Dechapol Puavaranukroh and "Fame" Supisara Piewsampran, ranked 3rd globally and seeded 1st, were initially leading against "Omo" Parkpon Teeraratkul and "Popo" Sapsiree Taerattanachai. However, Bas and Fame withdrew from the match while leading 11-5 in the first game, granting victory to Omo and Popo, who now advance to the second round.
Meanwhile, in another match, "M" Supak Chomkoh and "Mook" Oranicha Chongsthapornphan, ranked 69th in the world, secured a win against French players L©a Palermo and Julianne Mayo, ranked 36th. They triumphed with scores of 12-21, 21-18, and 21-12, advancing to the second round to face the newly paired Gao Jia Xuan and Wei Yaxin from China, who are seeded 8th.
