Mother of Late Actress Tangmo Submits New Social Media Evidence to DSI

Bangkok: Mother Phanida Sirayutthayothin is confident that her daughter, the late actress Tangmo Pataratida, did not drown, as new evidence from social media emerges to support this claim. At approximately 10:00 AM today, March 30, 2026, Mrs. Phanida submitted the evidence to Police Lieutenant Colonel Woranan Srilam, Director of the Special Cases Management Division, at the Department of Special Investigation (DSI), to aid in the investigation of Tangmo's death.

According to Thai News Agency, the new evidence surfaces four years after the tragic incident where Tangmo reportedly fell off a boat in the Chao Phraya River. Mrs. Phanida disclosed that the information was gathered through social media interactions, particularly with an individual known as "Bang Jack." Although she refrained from sharing specifics with the media, she emphasized the importance of a photograph depicting a wound on Tangmo's leg, which she believes was caused by a sharp object. Mrs. Phanida has requested this photograph from the Forensic Institute to complement other evidence she is yet to receive from the DSI.

For years, Mrs. Phanida has been on a quest for answers regarding her daughter's demise. However, recent social media developments have fortified her belief that Tangmo did not drown and she claims to know the perpetrator. This realization has brought her relief, offering a sense of closure that eluded her for years. She expressed hope that today's meeting would bring clarity to the unresolved case.

Mrs. Phanida also shared her dreams about Tangmo in recent months. In one vivid dream, Tangmo was invited to perform in a play, emerging from the morgue with a blackened body, as if to signal her passing. On another note, Mrs. Phanida mentioned her last interaction with Por, one of the individuals on the boat during the incident. She admitted there had been no recent communication, but if given the chance, she would question him about personal matters, such as Benz Prikthai's performance attire.

In a related development, the DSI spokesperson, P'Yak, returned Tangmo's personal items to her mother today. The belongings, including a comb, mirror, cash, wallet, handbag, and medicine, had been examined by the Forensic Institute. Additional information from Professor Panthep is anticipated on April 17th, which will assist in finalizing the case against Tangmo and lead to its closure in the near future.
