Mother Seeks Assistance to Open Safe Containing Valuables Worth Over 9 Million Baht

Wang Thonglang:A woman known as "Mother of Phat" brought a large safe to the police station, hoping to verify the presence of assets, reportedly worth over 9 million baht, including gold and diamonds. However, the safe remains locked as her son, who possesses the key, has not yet provided it.

According to Thai News Agency, Ms. Naphat, or "Mae Phat," with assistance from the Sai Mai Tong Rood unit, managed to transport the over 300-kilogram safe to Wang Thonglang Police Station. It took eight people to load the safe onto a pickup truck from her son's residence in the Wacharaphon area. The son was not present during the move, but village management was instructed to assist and witness the event. Police recommended videotaping the entire process for evidence, and the safe was placed in a secure location at the station.

Ms. Naphat expressed her frustration at not being able to open the safe, as her son has not provided the key. Although she recalls the original code, she is uncertain if it has been altered. Suspecting that some items might be missing, she attempted to listen for any sounds from inside the safe but heard nothing. Despite her concerns, she cannot verify the contents until the safe is opened.

She urged her son to return the key, emphasizing her need for the assets for daily expenses. The safe is believed to contain various valuables, including gold and diamond jewelry. While she remembers most items, her son had previously returned some, such as earrings and rings.

The police are prepared to issue a subpoena if her son fails to provide the key, which could delay the process. The family is considering hiring a locksmith to open the safe under police supervision, with the procedure recorded on video. If the contents are incomplete, they plan to file a complaint. They seek a prompt resolution to inspect the safe's contents.
