Bangkok: Muang Thai Insurance is expediting claims processing for victims of the train-bus collision near Makkasan. The company, as the insurer of the motor vehicles of the Bangkok Mass Transit Authority (BMTA), has expressed its condolences regarding the incident and committed to speeding up the claims process as per the motor vehicle insurance policy.

According to Thai News Agency, the tragic collision at Makkasan Railway Station on May 16, 2026, led to injuries and fatalities, causing public outrage. Muang Thai Insurance Public Company Limited, under CEO "Madam Pang" Nualphan Lamsam, has expressed condolences and support to the injured, the families of the deceased, and all affected individuals. Managing Director Mr. Wasit Lamsam has been sent to the scene to monitor the situation closely.

The company is coordinating with relevant agencies and policyholders to facilitate data verification and claims processing. A special inquiry channel has been opened via Call Center 1484. Muang Thai Insurance is committed to reviewing and processing claims transparently and fairly, aiming to provide timely assistance to alleviate the suffering of the victims and their families.
