Bangkok: Muang Thai Life Assurance has registered its “Carbon Footprint of Organization (CFO)” with the TGO for the third consecutive year, moving forward with its Net Zero Scope 1 and 2 goals by 2030. Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited (MTL) reaffirms its commitment to sustainability by registering its Carbon Footprint for Organization (CFO) with the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) (TGO) for the third consecutive year. This certification covers greenhouse gas emissions in Scope 1, Scope 2, and Scope 3, based on data from the 2022 base year. The continued registration of the CFO demonstrates the company’s high standards and environmental transparency, aligning with its ESG strategy and its goal of becoming a Net Zero Carbon Organization for Scope 1 and Scope 2 by 2030.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Sara Lamsam, Chief Executive Officer, stated that the third consecutive year of CFO registration not only reflects quality data management, but also serves as a crucial foundation for systematic carbon reduction planning to achieve Net Zero goals in a truly sustainable manner. It also fosters transparent and credible communication with stakeholders.
Over the past three years, the Company has been collecting data and assessing carbon emissions in its core activities, which have been audited by an independent agency certified by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO), and has continuously improved the process to increase efficiency in reducing carbon and using resources efficiently.
The company has developed an action plan to reduce carbon emissions in Scope 1 and 2, including a plan to replace internally owned vehicles with hybrid and electric vehicles; a survey and plan to replace air conditioners with refrigerants that emit the least greenhouse gases and are most environmentally friendly; internal energy-saving measures; and an increase in the use of renewable energy from solar power by installing additional solar rooftops in the headquarters, branch offices, and the Sansara Learning Center. Furthermore, the company has promoted knowledge and raised awareness of climate change among employees to help the organization achieve its Net Zero goal by 2030.
At the Carbon Label certification ceremony organized by the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (Public Organization) (TGO), Mr. Pramote Sakkamjorn, Senior Executive Vice President of Muang Thai Life Assurance Public Company Limited, represented the company in receiving the Carbon Label certification from Mr. Nakorn Trankwirapat, Director of the Thailand Greenhouse Gas Management Organization (TGO), who presided over the ceremony. The event was held to honor and express gratitude to organizations that applied for Carbon Label certification for their key roles in driving greenhouse gas reduction towards Net Zero. The event took place at the Conference Hall of the Thailand Institute of Justice (Public Organization) (TIJ) on Chaeng Watthana Road, Bangkok.
