MWA Donates 3.5 Million Baht to Bowling Association of Thailand

Bangkok: The Metropolitan Waterworks Authority (MWA) has contributed 3.5 million baht to the Bowling Association of Thailand under the "1 Sports Association, 1 State Enterprise Plus" project. This initiative aims to foster collaboration between sports associations and state enterprises.

According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Suthep Euapakorn, Deputy Governor of MWA, led the ceremony to hand over the donation. Mr. Somphan Jarumilint, President of the Bowling Association, accepted the funds at the MWA headquarters, accompanied by Mrs. Suwalai Satrulie, the Association's Secretary-General, and members of the Thai national bowling team. This donation marks the 16th consecutive year of support from MWA to the association.

The Bowling Association of Thailand has a busy schedule for the year, with notable competitions such as the international Thailand Open, the Thai National Championships, and the Thailand Tour in April. May will see the athletes competing in the Malaysia Open, followed by the Singapore Open in June, and the IBF World Youth Championships in Sarawak, Malaysia, in July.

Meanwhile, the Aquatic Sports Association of Thailand has partnered with Thammasat University, Rangsit Campus, by signing a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) to enhance youth diving skills for the national team. The university will serve as the central training hub, aligning with the vision of Captain Thamanat Phromphao, President of the Aquatic Sports Association, to develop youth talent and raise the standard of diving in Thailand.

Thailand currently boasts two youth diving training centers: one in Sattahip, Chonburi province, and the main center at Thammasat University, Rangsit campus, which supports over 40 young athletes and serves as a feeder for the senior national diving team.
