The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) committee faced a failure to appear for an explanation regarding alleged corruption in the local government recruitment exam. Meanwhile, the Rector of Srinakharinwirot University (SWU) attended the meeting in person.
According to Thai News Agency, Mr. Asaphol Santraiphop, MP for Sisaket Province and Chairman of the House of Representatives' Anti-Corruption Committee, revealed that today the Rector of Srinakharinwirot University (SWU), along with faculty members and the director of the university's testing center, appeared before the committee to clarify the entire situation regarding alleged corruption in the local government examinations. The purpose was to use the committee's platform to address these issues, which have not been publicly disclosed.
The chairman of the central committee for local government employee recruitment examinations has contacted us stating that he cannot attend the meeting due to other commitments. Therefore, he will be invited to the next meeting. If he fails to attend the next meeting, the committee will use its authority to summon him. The committee intends to inquire about the alleged cheating scandal involving 5,000 people: whether these 5,000 individuals can still perform their duties; whether those who did not participate in the cheating scandal and passed are already on the reserve list and can be promoted; and whether individuals above the director-general are involved in this scheme.
