NACC orders investigation into ‘Director-General of the Land Department’ over Khao Kradong land issue

NACC orders investigation into "Director-General of the Land Department" for not revoking land title deeds at Khao Kradong, "Saksayam" of SRT also involved because he was a former commander. Mr. Niwatchai Kasem Mongkol, Secretary-General of the National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC), gave an interview about the progress of the case accusing Mr. Saksayam Chidchob, when he was the Minister of Transport, of acting or neglecting to act improperly or not, in the case of not ordering the State Railway of Thailand to sue to evict the trespassers on the Khao Kradong land, including the case of investigating serious ethical violations. Mr. Saksayam has a house on the land of the State Railway of Thailand (SRT) in the Khao Kradong area, Mueang District, Buriram Province, which is state land for the benefit of his own business and his relatives. Mr. Niwatchai said that in this case, the NACC has ordered an investigation into the Director-General of the Land Department to find out why the title deed on the land of the State Railway of Thailand as the issuer of the title deed was not revoked, and has also ordered an investigation into the State Railway of Thailand as the land owner agency to see if it has neglected its duties. As for the serious ethical case of Mr. Saksayam, this part must be at another stage. Regarding serious ethical issues, I have not seen any order to investigate. If there is an ethical investigation, the case and the issuance of the title deed on Khao Kradong must be completed first. Then the ethical investigation must be conducted based on the facts to see if there was any encroachment or not. We will have to discuss it again. Source: Thai News Agency
