Bangkok: The National Anti-Corruption Commission (NACC) has officially submitted documents regarding the case against 44 Members of Parliament from the Move Forward Party to the Supreme Court's Criminal Division for Holders of Political Positions. This submission is part of the Commission's efforts to address alleged ethical violations by these MPs, who are accused of jointly proposing amendments to Section 112 of the Criminal Code.
According to Thai News Agency, the NACC transported numerous boxes of documents to the Supreme Court using a van, marking a significant step in their petition to prosecute the accused MPs. The controversy centers around the proposed amendments to Section 112, which the NACC argues could represent serious ethical breaches by the lawmakers involved.
Within the group of 44 MPs facing allegations, 10 serve as representatives for the People's Party in the current parliament. The potential consequences for these MPs include the possibility of suspension from their duties, pending the outcome of the Supreme Court's decision.
