Nakhon Si Thammarat: Residents in Zone 8, comprising the districts of Chawang, Pipun, Nabon, and Chang Klang, have gradually commenced exercising their right to vote in the by-election for Members of Parliament (MPs) since polling began at 8:00 a.m. The Election Commission (EC) chairman noted the absence of any complaints regarding election law violations.
According to Thai News Agency, voters in Constituency 8 of Nakhon Si Thammarat Province, where a by-election has been scheduled by the Election Commission to fill a vacant position, started arriving early at the polling stations to verify their names. As the clock struck 8:00 a.m., they began to cast their votes, contributing to a calm and orderly atmosphere.
At the Ban Lak Chang Child Development Center in the Chang Klang District, which houses Polling Station 5 and Polling Station 6, Mr. Ittiporn Boonprakong, the Election Commission Chairman, visited the site. He assessed the proceedings, motivated the officials, and monitored the election. Mr. Boonprakong confirmed that no complaints have been received regarding any election law infringements by the candidates, despite occasional rumors of vote buying in the region.
In response to these rumors, the EC dispatched a mobile unit of officers alongside police personnel last night to investigate and maintain surveillance. As of now, no candidates have been implicated in any violations. Mr. Boonprakong encouraged villagers to report any credible evidence of election law breaches to the EC.
