Narcotics Suppression Bureau 24 Seizes Over 2.19 Million Methamphetamine Pills in Kalasin

Kalasin: Narcotics Suppression Bureau 24, in a joint operation, seized over 2.19 million methamphetamine pills and arrested one suspect in Kalasin. On March 28, 2026, the Northeastern Border Narcotics Suppression and Interdiction Command (NBS 24), through its expanded operations unit from the Border Patrol Police Region 2 Intelligence Unit (BPP Region 2), the main agency involved, integrated with the Surasakmontri Task Force, the Upper Interdiction Section, and the 2nd Control Command (13th Infantry Regiment).

According to Thai News Agency, authorities received intelligence that a large shipment of drugs was to be smuggled into the area, prompting them to plan and deploy personnel to monitor the target route. At approximately 1:00 AM, a suspicious black Toyota Fortuner with license plate KM 2674 Khon Kaen was spotted driving along Highway 222. Officers pursued and apprehended the vehicle in front of the Namon Police Station in Namon District, Kalasin Province.

The operation resulted in the arrest of one suspect, Mr. Sapthaveekoon Boonwiset, 52 years old, along with evidence including 5 sacks of methamphetamine tablets totaling 2,192,000 tablets, a vehicle used for transportation, and one mobile phone. The suspects and seized items have been taken to the Border Patrol Police Region 2 Headquarters for further investigation and will be prosecuted at Namon Police Station.
