Bangkok: Preparations are underway to discuss the SEA Games issue with the Amateur Muay Thai Association. The President of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand is preparing to hold discussions with the Amateur Muay Thai Association to resolve the issues surrounding the SEA Games, while affirming that all athletes must receive fair treatment.
According to Thai News Agency, the case involves Mr. Natthadej Wachiraratthanawong, or “Sia Boat,” a famous Muay Thai promoter, who brought Mongkutphet Phetphrawfah, or Arisara Noon-iad, a female national boxer, to seek justice regarding the questionable defeats of several Thai boxers and allegations of match-fixing to split medals at the recent 33rd SEA Games.
Recently, “Big A” Assoc. Prof. Pimol Srivikrom, President of the National Olympic Committee of Thailand, revealed that he had invited Dr. Sakchai Tapsuwan, President of the Amateur Muay Thai Association of Thailand, for a discussion to listen to the problems and solutions. Dr. Sakchai accepted the invitation and is preparing to attend the meeting with the National Olympic Committee of Thailand on January 6th.
Assistant Professor Pimol Srivikrom emphasized that the National Olympic Committee of Thailand’s role is not merely to sign off on athletes’ participation in competitions, but also to uphold their dignity and ensure fairness. She affirmed that all parties will be given the opportunity to hear the information and facts, and that any doubts will be clarified for the public.
